Beginning with Prayer

Isaiah 64:1-2O that you would rend the heavens and come down, that the mountains might quake at your presence— as when fire kindles brushwood and the fire causes water to boil—to make your name known.

The prelude to the incarnation is the great desire to have communion on earth with God.  So we pray not just that God would take our side and fulfill our needs and wants, but that the God would actually come down.
So memorize this prayer, or at least, “O that you would rend the heavens and come down,” and pray it each day of this advent season, maybe at the beginning or end of each day’s devotions.
