Isaiah 9:6-7 — For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government will be upon his shoulder, and his name will be called “Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end.
It is common Christian doctrine, as old as the apostle Paul, that Christ make peace between us and God through his death on the cross. It is also true that God makes peace with us through God’s incarnation in Jesus. God takes the first step in making peace with the human race.
