Matthew 9:6-7 — An angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit; she will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”
God was known by name by the people of the Old Testament. But we have generally translated that name, Yahweh, into a noun, God or the Lord. Now, God incarnate, has a name again, Jesus.
If your name were “Jesus,” what is one difference it would make?
